Establishing the Marital Standard of Living (MSOL) is crucial in cases where spousal support is being requested. That is because statute specifically indicates that the amount of maintenance is based on “the standard of living established during the marriage and the extent to which the standard of living was funded by debt.” (MN Statute 518.552, subdivision 2, (c))
